Comprehensive & Compassionate Patient Care

To my patients:

It is with a heavy heart that I write this letter to inform you of my plans to leave Digestive
Disease Medicine of Central New York (DDM) effective November 30, 2023. My decision to leave DDM was a difficult one but had to be made for family reasons. As some of you may already know, my parents live in NYC and I plan to move to NYC to take care of them.

Your health is very important to me and we value your relationship with Digestive
Disease Medicine. In order to assure a smooth transition your care will be assigned to one of our experienced providers unless you choose to transfer your care to another provider at another location.

It was my pleasure taking care of you and your loved ones during my time here! I wish you the best of health to you and your loved ones! Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Digestive Disease Medicine (DDM) of Central New York’s  reputation for providing the highest quality of compassionate GI care is unsurpassed in the region.  For over 35 years, we have focused on each patient’s unique needs and concerns, and we work hard for our patients.

We strive to improve our patients’ overall health by focusing on preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions associated with your digestive system.  Our team includes seven physicians who are all board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, along with eight nurse practitioners and physicians assistants, who are similarly board-certified by their respective societies.

DDM is taking all necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of our patients, providers and employees. To offer our patients additional ways to receive care, we have increased our teleheath and video visit capabilities. While in-person appointments are vital to patient care, seeing a patient via a screen allows for our doctors to see, hear, and assess the patient.

Our Patient Portal helps you take a more active role in your healthcare. The Patient Portal provides you with secure, online access to portions of your medical records, as well as an easy and convenient way to communicate with the practice through a secure internet connection.

The importance of colon cancer screening

COVID-19 stay at home orders lead to many patients having to reschedule their checkups and appointments. While a colonoscopy itself is a short procedure, prepping for it can take a few hours. However, there are many reasons you shouldn’t put off a seeing your doctor or scheduling a colonoscopy. Colon cancer affects about 1 in 20 people in the United States and is being diagnosed at a considerably younger age over the past few years.
